The Significance of the Second Wednesday of the Month. This day is AFPLI Peace and Harmony Day in schools all over Nigeria where we have a peace club. The day is recognized in the six education districts as co-curricular activity day. In UNILAG it is recognized as a cultural event day. The UNILAG KPLC shall hold its monthly meeting, therefore, on the Second Wednesday of every month. While everyday will be membership solicitation day, the Second Wednesday shall be membership drive day. Within the two hours set aside for the meeting, the first 30 minutes will be fellowship time. We will sing our anthems and various peace song publicly before moving into the meeting venue proper. We will read minute of previous meeting, accept new members and add their names to our WhatsApp group account. We will have a thirty minute lecture time. The FP/CEO and the National Secretary shall provide a lecture through the Liaison Officer. This lecture shall be easy to teach. This monthly and weekly lectures will be available to every member in teaching them within and outside campus. Every peace club is therefore regarded as peace education center. Though some supports may be provided by the mother organization, every peace club must work towards self-sustenance. It should be borne in mind that because of the magnitude of clubs across the country, it is practically impossible to expect the funding and finances of a local peace club to come from the mother organization. The mother organization do not have a budget for this purpose. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Let’s kick off the ball and let’s start it rolling.
The Second Friday and Second Sunday of the month is the Peace and Harmony Day, respectively, in Mosques and Churches. Please let us know if you would like to create one where you worship. FP/CEO.
